The Berkeley is a family run family friendly guesthouse which strives to make your stay as comfortable, enjoyable and stress free as possible. Be it a one night business trip to a three week holiday, we will do everything we can to ensure you will not go home disappointed.
Rest assured, you will always find a warm welcome at The Berkeley Guest House. Under the personal supervision of Mal and Colette Neill, guests can enjoy this small family-run, family-friendly licensed guesthouse all year round.
Ideally situated on the West Promenade with a fine panoramic view of Morecambe Bay and the Lakeland Hills and some of the best sunsets in the UK, the Berkeley Guest House makes a superb base for exploring the Lake District as well as the city of Lancaster and Morecambe itself. Historic Lancaster is a short 10 minute drive away or quicker by train.
Personal care and consideration is given to ensure the highest standard of hospitality and accommodation. The breakfast room is situated on the lower ground floor where you can ensure your breakfast will be freshly home-cooked using only local produce, be it full English or eggs done any way you like. Restricted diets can be catered for if requested when booking.
All twelve bedrooms are tastefully furnished with en-suite facilities including electric showers, and also offer colour television/DVD combis and complimentary tea and coffee. Many of the rooms have splendid views overlooking beautiful Morecambe Bay, including our 'Sunset Suite' which boasts a four poster bed. For your personal comfort at all times, the hotel is centrally heated throughout.
We all go away and forget some essentials so we have a stock of toothpaste and brushes, shoe shine kits and sewing kits available. A hair drier and ironing board and iron are available if required.
As we are by the seaside, we also have a small selection of beach toys available for the kids. Buckets, spades and fishing nets of course and maybe we could find a ball or two. If we haven’t got it, just ask and we will endeavour to obtain it on your behalf.
The Berkeley Guest House features a separate television lounge for guests' use, with a large bay window overlooking Morecambe Bay. You can watch TV or a DVD, use our wireless internet on your laptop, select a book to read or just sit in the large bay window and watch some of the loveliest sunsets to be found in the UK. If you are feeling more energetic you could play a game of pool, table tennis or darts on our multi-functional table.
Or why not try a drink in our attractive licensed bar with its selection of beers and spirits. Bar games of all description are available for your use, from an original shove halfpenny board to the more modern Wii console. Alternatively, try the night entertainment of Morecambe - keys are provided to the bedroom and front door so guests have access to the hotel at all times.

Road Directions
Leave the M6 motorway at jct 34 or 35 and follow signs for Morecambe. The hotel is situated on the West Promenade.
Public Transport Directions
The major bus routes from Kendal in the North and Preston in the south all stop just 500 yards away from the Berkeley. Morecambe train station is a ten minute walk away with regular connections to Lancaster for main line services or direct trains to Leeds.
