Description

Get creative by the coast

The hugely popular Silverdale and Arnside Art and Craft Trail is taking place on June 29 - July 1
Organisers are requesting local and visiting artists to register now to take part this year.

Forty local and visiting individual and group exhibitors will welcome visitors into their homes, studios and exhibitions to view or purchase their work and participate in a number of expertly-run workshops.

Now in its 8th year, the Art and Craft Trail is hosted by two nearby villages, Silverdale in Lancashire and Arnside in Cumbria.

The main trail opens on the Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm and runs 11 am to 5 pm on the Saturday and Sunday. You can drop into RSPB Leighton Moss nature reserve in Silverdale on the Saturday and Sunday to absorb a ‘taster exhibition’ and to decide on your preferred route. On the Saturday there will also be a ‘drop in’ Art Trail Social Evening between 7 and 9 pm, with refreshments and it will be a chance to meet some of the artists in the Café.

Famous for its wealth of wildlife and set in tranquil surroundings this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has inspired many artists over the years. With its stunning backdrop of the Lake District and everchanging estuary scenery this small piece of heaven offers an excellent weekend escape. For information about where to stay over the weekend see www.visitbittern.co.uk

The trail is walking and cycling friendly and also offers a great chance to explore the wildlife at RSPB Leighton Moss nature reserve, discovering many local historic sites, experience the tidal-bore at Arnside, finishing off with one our exceptional sunsets.

Visit the website www.silverdalearttrail.co.uk for more information or please contact the event organiser Debbie Copley by emailing: trail@silverdalearttrail.co.uk or phoning 01524 701563.
