Description

The Poulton Heritage Festival returns with a series of events celebrating the history and heritage of the village on Saturday 14th July.

Poulton-Le-Sands was one of three fishing hamlets which eventually came together to become what is now Morecambe.

The Poulton Heritage Festival– Based in the Memorial Hall and around the Memorial Hall, Church Walk, Morecambe.
Friends of Poulton Cemeteries- returns with a series of events celebrating the history and heritage of the village
Based in the Memorial Hall (although the surrounding venues of school playground/Scout Hut may be used depending on take up). Events - Peter Joslin and genealogy, Evelyn Archer's slide show on Poulton in years past, Museum artifacts on the fishing heritage and others, Library maps and relevant booklets/posters/programmes etc., guided walks around the churchyards and supporting documentation, reading of the Charter in front of Police Station, hopefully displays from local schoolchildren (Poulton le Sands school are concentrating on the Edwardian period and will have work to display) etc. This is a broad outline although there may be displays by local uniformed groups, brass bands, old bike displays, dancing and wandering minstrals as well.
