Joe, of Higherford Mill in Barrowford, is an oil painter andher work is big with expressive composition, strange beauty, sinister overtones and humour. This work, inspired by the Pendle Witches, is an investigation into the story of a place that vibrates with energy focused on a view of a world in 1612 and the incidents that occurred.

This work is a creative response to the artist’s relationship with a place, its culture and history. It is no coincidence that Joe lives and works in the shadow of Pendle Hill. Please note, on occasion, the gallery space is closed to the public. Please call ahead to check before making a special
trip. This exhibition runs from 1st to 30th June.
