Joe is an oil painter and her work is big with expressive composition, strange beauty, sinister overtones and humour.
This work, inspired by the Pendle Witches, is an investigation into the story of a place that vibrates with energy focused on a view of a world in 1612 and the incidents that occurred. This work is a creative response to the artist’s relationship with a place, its culture and history. It is no coincidence that Joe lives and work in the shadow of Pendle Hill.
