Description

The Platform is Morecambe`s premier music and entertainment venue located in the old railway station on the promenade opposite the Midland Hotel.

It hosts a strong touring programme from jazz and blues to world music, folk and classical. The Platform also puts on an extensive range of workshops, recitals, lectures, regular sequence dances and community events. In addition to The Platform, the Station Building also includes Morecambe’s Visitor Information Centre, together with The Station pub and Wacky Warehouse - a children’s fun area.

Road Directions

Car parking: There are public car parks adjacent to the venue. Parking is free after 6pm.

Public Transport Directions

Trains: Morecambe’s railway station, situated on Central Drive, is only a few minutes walk away

Buses: Buses run regularly along the Promenade and stop outside the venue. The bus station is

Next time you visit the Platform why not come by bike? The Platform is just at the end
of the Lancaster and Morecambe Greenway – a shared use path that connects
Morecambe to Lancaster (and also much of the area’s off road network via the
Millennium Bridge). The venue is also easily accessible from Morecambe promenade –
which you can now cycle the full length of. Cycle parking is available outside.
