Salt Ayre Sports Centre is the largest sports and leisure centre in the Lancaster district and is conveniently located half-way between Lancaster and Morecambe.

The centre offers a wide range of indoor sport and leisure activities all year round. Our indoor facilities include swimming pools, a large indoor sports hall, projectile hall, fitness / dance studio, a fully equipped Reflexions gym and a sauna and steam suite.

The swimming pool is the largest in the area and is suitable for everyone with a main 25m pool, learner pool, spa pool and waterslide making it great fun for all the family. Throughout the week there are dedicated sessions of lane swimming, children’s activities and float sessions, plus our exciting 40m waterslide is open weekends and throughout school holidays.

Salt Ayre’s main sports hall is fully equipped for 5-a-side football, basketball, netball, volleyball, short tennis and table tennis and has 8 badminton courts. You’re welcome to hire sports equipment from us if you don’t have your own, and our prices are some of the best in the area.

For the more energetic, why not take part in one of our fitness classes that take place throughout the day? With over 60 classes a week there’s bound to be something that appeals and they’re all available as ‘pay-as-you-go’ to non members. Just turn up and join in the fun with our friendly instructor team. There’s no need to book.

When the weather is fine, Salt Ayre Sports Centre also boasts a huge range of outdoor facilities including a full size floodlit synthetic pitch, an 8 lane floodlit athletics track, grass pitches and a 1500m cycle racing circuit.

For the active youngster we have a range of fun sports and arts courses that take place during the school holidays. Activities include cycling, swimming and our famous wet and dry days: a whole day of sporting fun.
