Built in 1618, The Whoop Hall in Carnforth is a family-run hotel with leisure facilities set in stunning surroundings in the beautiful Lune Valley. On the outskirts of the attractive market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, it is an ideal base to explore some of Britain's most beautiful countryside, the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.
This idyllic retreat is a perfect location to while away a pleasant lunchtime drink, evening meal or overnight stay. All 24 rooms are en suite, individually furnished and offer all the latest in home comforts including colour TV, radio, direct dial telephone and tea and coffee making facilities. For that special occasion or that added touch or luxury we also have four poster rooms.
All guests now staying with us are able to enjoy full complimentary use of the hotel's new Country Club facilities including 18m swimming pool, sauna, steam room and spa, and state of the art fully equipped fitness studio. Enjoy a pampering in our new health salon Bliss.
The Whoop Hall is proud of its team of professional chefs who create home made dishes on the premises using fresh local ingredients. Enjoy dining in either our 1 AA Rossetted Connors restaurant or Turners dining room which is open daily for breakfasts, lunches, and evening bar snacks. You are able to choose from a wide and changing menu. Daily specialities are created using only the finest local produce.
In the summer months enjoy al fresco dining on the terrace surrounded by the beautiful countryside. On Sunday, unwind with live jazz whilst dining on a hearty Sunday lunch from our famous carvery. Our award-winning food is the reason many local people are frequent vistors to the Whoop Hall. The Whoop Bar hosts traditional hand pulled ales and roaring log fires. Complete the experience and enjoy the surroundings; relax and unwind over coffee and aperitifs in our lounge and stay as long as you like.

North/South Exit M6 at J36 take A65 eastwards, signed to Skipton. After 6 miles, as you pass Kirkby Lonsdale you will cross the River Lune. Just half a mile further, The Whoop Hall is on the right hand side
East – Take the A65 signposted for Skipton and Kendal. Once through Ingleton, you will find The Whoop Hall a mile beyond the village of Cowan Bridge

The nearest train station is Lancaster which is only a 5 minute walk from Lancaster Visitor Information Centre, just outside the city centre. The station is on the West Coast Mainline with regular mainline Virgin services to London & South and Glasgow & North. Local services include a regular service to Morecambe.
