Midland Hotel, Morecambe is a destination in itself, a sleek unique hotel set in glorious Morecambe Bay.
Built in 1933, this beautiful Art Deco building was designed to be an extravagant gesture of hope in an age of uncertainty. Architect Oliver Hill commissioned sculptor Eric Gill and artist Eric Ravilious to follow through his modernist vision into the interior of the hotel.
The hotel fell into disrepair, but now the building, purchased by developers Urban Splash, are currently undertaking an impressive and innovative renovation, due to be completed June 2008.
Reinvented with 44 rooms including six fabulous rooftop suites, a warm welcoming restaurant and bar, and outstanding facilities for special events complemented by beautiful external terraces to provide a truly memorable experience.
