Dukes Theatre and Cinema, Lancaster

This converted church in Lancaster is now a much-praised repertory theatre and cinema. Built in 1796 as the Parish Church of St Anne, it was cleverly converted into a theatre in 1971. As Lancashire's only professional producing theatre, The Dukes produces five shows a year including an outdoor Promenade performance and a Christmas family show, and also hosts many leading touring theatre productions. Road Directions

From M6 jct 34, follow signs for city centre, passing the Holiday Inn on the right. Once on the one-way system keep in the left-hand lane and follow the brown heritage signs for The Dukes. Turn left into Moor Lane; The Dukes is on the left.

Public Transport Directions

Turn left from train station, follow signs to city centre and walk through pedestrianised shopping area, past Boots and cross Great John Street over to Moor Lane where The Dukes is situated.
